Our sources

We read 25 free and open sources from 20 countries, only through the feeds and data they publish for that purpose. Each one is used only in the way its terms allow.

How we use a source

  • Open data: official data turned into short reports with fixed templates, keeping the publisher's values unchanged and crediting it.
  • Open licence: published under an open licence; we summarise it and credit it.
  • Facts: we take the facts it reports and write about them in our own words; its wording never appears on our site.
  • Link only: we link to its reports and use their headlines only to recognise reports of the same event. No AI ever reads them.

We never fetch from sites behind a paywall, we honour every site's robots.txt and opt-outs from text and data mining, and we never show a source's images or logos.
