AI-made K-pop single hits No 2 on Melon chart

A single titled "Have You Become the Adult You Dreamed Of?" reached No 2 on Melon's Top 100 chart in South Korea, according to the South China Morning Post. The track was produced by the duo Glorywave, made up of Lee Yong-seok and Choi Sung-hyuk. The duo used the generative AI platform Suno to create the melody, arrangement and vocal track, then edited, mixed and mastered the final version themselves. The song's success has prompted debate over copyright questions surrounding AI-generated music, and the act has become one of the most talked-about music groups in the country.
