President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday offering UFC president and CEO Dana White the White House press secretary job, but White has turned down the offer. The proposal included a request for six UFC fighters—Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison—to serve as assistants. The White House currently has no press secretary after Katie Zacharia left the position on 16 Oct, five days after starting. White responded on Instagram with a caption indicating he is moving on.

Netflix has begun producing an untitled documentary about Dana White, the UFC president, and is set to release it early next year. The project grew out of Netflix's interest in acquiring UFC broadcast rights, which were instead sold to Paramount for more than $1 billion a year. Gotham Chopra will direct the film, having previously worked on a separate project about Las Vegas. Netflix executive Gabe Spitzer has said the streamer commissioned too many league-follow docuseries in the style of Drive To Survive.

UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev will meet the victor of the interim title bout between Carlos Prates and Michael Morales at UFC 336 on 30 Jan 2027 in Toronto, Canada. Makhachev, 35, says the matchup will be one of his final fights, having defended his belt in August and holding a 29‑1 professional record. The interim fight pits Prates, who entered with three consecutive knockout wins, against Morales, who is unbeaten in 19 bouts.
