Supreme Court hears challenge to Palestine Action ban

Britain's Supreme Court opened a two-day hearing on Wednesday, 4 Nov, into a challenge by Palestine Action to its proscription as a terrorist organisation. The group, founded in 2020, was banned in July 2025 after attacks on defence firms, including a 2024 raid on Elbit Systems that caused about £1 million in damage. Campaigners and police report more than 4,000 arrests since the ban; police detained several protesters outside the court, and 325 people were arrested outside the US embassy in London on 31 Oct. Co-founder Huda Ammori argues the ban criminalises legitimate protest.

Israel razes homes of Hebron attackers; over 3,000 displaced

Israeli forces have demolished the homes of the gunmen who killed two Israeli soldiers at a Hebron checkpoint on 23 Oct, according to the Israeli military. The operation, ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has forcibly displaced more than 3,000 Palestinians in the West Bank, and most entrances to Hebron are closed, restricting residents' movement and access to medical care. Israel's government says the operation responds to the attack. UN human rights chief Volker Türk raised concerns of unnecessary and disproportionate use of force and of ethnic cleansing. Palestinian officials accuse Netanyahu of seeking political gain before Israel's general election on Tuesday.

The 27 Oct election results will be certified and delivered to President Isaac Herzog on 4 Nov, confirming that Netanyahu's bloc secured 53 seats while the Change bloc won 48 and Arab parties captured a record 19 seats, leaving no side with the 61 seats needed to form a government. Voter turnout reached 77.7%, the highest since 1999. Herzog can assign a 28‑day coalition mandate, extendable by 14 days, and is expected to consult party leaders before deciding whom to task with building a coalition.
